As an asset finance broker, your role may involve working with clients to find the best financing solutions for their assets, such as vehicles, equipment, or property. Your primary role is to ensure your clients are informed and supported throughout their journey with us. Day-to-day activities may include conducting market research, identifying potential opportunities to support organisations, negotiating with lenders, and liaising with our credit team to prepare loan or lease applications.
Success in commercial finance requires a combination of technical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to think creatively and solve problems. Strong organisational and time management skills are also important.
There are several certifications available for commercial finance professionals in the UK, such as the Certificate in Asset Finance (CAF) offered by the Asset-Based Finance Association (ABFA). We would also recommend seeking out training programs offered by lenders and other financial institutions to gain hands-on experience and industry knowledge.
