As a divisional manager who has been with Bluestone for more than 10 years, Hez spends his days training, motivating, and supporting his team of account managers to develop their talent, maximise their success, and establish mutually beneficial relationships with their clients.

‘I am proud to say that most of my career has been spent with Bluestone, and I am fortunate enough to hold a position that enables me to have a positive influence not just on my team, but on the wider company. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than knowing that I have had a direct impact on someone else’s success, whether that person is a colleague, customer, or partner.’

The early days

Hez grew up in Essex and aside from early memories of building blocks with his brother and a brief ambition to be a firefighter, he remembers an early drive to improve and succeed at as much as he could.  

'I was always trying to master a new skill or sport – I always wanted to be the best. But through sport I also enjoyed meeting and socialising with people from different backgrounds and demographics, and to this day I love being part of a team.’

 A networker from the beginning, Hez learnt the important of making connections and building friendships early on: ‘I enjoyed getting to know people at school and was a bit of a socialite. I never missed a party invite, let’s put it that way!’

The world of work

After some time working in a manufacturing company, volunteering, and then graduating from university, Hez joined Bluestone as a sales executive. He has held several sales and account management positions since then, and today he is a divisional manager for a team of account managers.

‘I enjoy watching businesses grow develop and enabling them to overcome obstacles, and I have to admit I enjoy the thrill of the hunting down a good deal for our clients. I ensure the team are motivated and supported to offer best in class service to clients and partners. I make it my business to get to know people as well as I can both personally and professionally. When I understand their unique talents, strengths, and challenges, I can be of more help.’

When it comes to establishing rapport and building meaningful relationships with clients, Hez is one of the go-to people at Bluestone thanks to his ability to quickly uncover and understand a business’ needs while identifying potential solutions to their challenges.  

Getting to know Hez

Which person do you most admire and why? Michael Jordan, the basketball player. His sheer grit and determination to achieve what he achieved and to be the best is a big source of inspiration to me.

What are your biggest pet peeves? ‘People who beat around the bush – I like to be direct. Oh, and noisy eaters!’

What are you surprisingly good at? ‘I’m not a bad singer.’

What’s your perfect weekend? ‘As long as it includes sunshine, family time and inclusive activities, I’m happy.’

Anything on your bucket list? ‘In the future I’d like to ride a bike down the Great Wall of China.’

Hez’s life motto: ‘No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.’
