A New Fit-Out for Sightsavers

Sightsavers is an international organisation that changes lives for the long term and currently work in over 30 countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and support people with visual impairments to live independently.

Challenge

Sightsavers embarked on a project to relocate to a new Head Office in Haywards Heath. The client wanted to utilise a finance lease facility to enable them to benefit from spreading the cost of the project over the useful life of the assets.

The organisation is of charitable status and, as such, they are unable to claim back VAT. For a project as large as this, the figures involved were significant and this was a concern to the charity.

The Solution

We presented a structured lease for Sightsavers which matched all of their requirements. Specifically our solution allowed them to spread the cost of the VAT over the term of the finance. Our facility covered 100% of the project costs able to choose a building which best suited their needs and working environment.

Retaining capital within the charity meant that it could be deployed where it was needed most - supporting their beneficiaries.
